Smithsonian Water Ways Exhibit

Over the last few weeks we've been fortunate to learn more about the impact of water on our lives and the community through the Smithsonian Water Ways Exhibit and classroom presentation.  At the end of January, a volunteer came into our classroom to teach us about how the Native Americans interacted with water and how important it was to them.  This tied in perfectly to our Native American studies from earlier in the year.

On Thursday, we visited the exhibits.  We stopped into 3 different locations:  The Lanesboro Museum, the Art Center, and the Commonweal Theatre.  It was very interesting and informative for our class, and we want to thank all the volunteers and people who organized this event, lead us through the stations, and taught us more about water.  It was also a great opportunity for us to learn more about the history of Lanesboro as well!
